Do you guys remember what you have learned about essay writing? What are some of the tips that you have gotten and retained or remembered over the years?
What are some things that make sense about essay writing and what are some things that you think you just don't get? (You need to be a humble learner for this one, so take off your coolness cloak and admit you don't know everything - okay?)

when we write essays the most important things are organisation, and also to use a hook, theisis statement, transitions and etc. We also have to stick with the topic which in this case is the giver and use correct grammar and punctuation.
I agree with selen. Last year we've written lots of examples of essay while we were studying for the mock exam. Even now I'm keeping my folder about the essay writting. The point is to concentrate on the topic (for example, 'The Giver') and write an essay according to the instructions(hook, theisis, transitions, vocab. and etc) . Last year our teacher told as that our teachers in high school won't ask for too complicated essays such as we used to write in 8th grade. I hope the exercises we made will be beneficial for me.
I agree with Selen I think the most important thing is the organisation cause if you don't give what you want to say in a organized way nobody would interest about it. Like if you say the thing you should say at the begining in the last paragraph it won't make any sense, right? Also, we shouldn't repeat us all the time with the diffrent sentences. We should tell different things which are related our topic.
I think the most important thing is the thesis statement.. It causes the reader to be eager about the contents of the following paragraphs.. also organisation is very important too.. As Aysegül said, no one would understand the first sentences of the paragraph if it is in the last sentences.. Moreover, punctuation, grammer transitions and etc. are very significant too..
