Of course, its still very important! History shows us the mistakes that had been done before by the others so we can take lessons and wouldn't do that mistakes again. If we know where we are coming and how we come these days we can improve our lives more easily,too. So learning history and taking lessons from history would help us very much.

i wonder sometimes if people have learned from history (sometimes some very smart people make the same mistakes).
