The Giver is part of the Science Fiction genre. A friend of mine has said that true science fiction is when the setting is the main character and not the story line.
So, based on that assumption, which of the following movies is science fiction and which is not: The Matrix and Star Wars -- why?

Those movies don'T based on a real life. there is no superman,harry potter,flying man or anything like this.
I can't remember these movies much, but i think The matrix is a true science fiction movie. Star Wars is about saving the city.
