There are two types of sound in film:
Diegetic (actual sounds that are heard within the story -- e.g. characters talking and birds singing) and Non-diegetic(sounds that are heard by the audience and have no onscreen source)
SBM has a number of Non-diegetic sounds that are also sometimes diegetic. Some of the songs are actually heard by the characters and are playing on the radio or on a record in the scene, but other times the songs pop up and have no real source in the particular scene they are being played in.
Give me an example or either a diegetic or non-diegetic sound from ANY of the scenes you have seen so far.

If we can remember the scene "Swamp and Leaches" we would realize that there are diagetic sounds such as splashes from the swamp.
in the scene "swamp and leeches" we hear the children screaming, and in the scene "all time train dodge" we hear the train track sounds, these are the diegetic sounds that i can recall.
Most of the songs in the movie like "Lollipop", "Every Day" and "Rockin' Robin" were coming from a radio broadcast. The characters react to every song so the songs are -without a doubt- diegetic, but since the children didn't bring a radio with them, it is odd that they can hear it in the middle of a forest.
