Lighting

How does lighting affect the mood of a scene? What kind of lighting could produce something scary? What kind of lighting produces something more serious? etc...

(THINK color and brightness and angles and shadows)

lighting is an essential thing in a film because it can change the mood of the scene. If it is dark and if there is shadows or just a tiny spotlight it makes the scene scary. On the other hand if there is colourful lights we can understand that there happens something happy or crazy.

lighting is one of the most important elements in a film because even the emotions are dependent on the way a film is lighted. The lighting doesn't only help us understand the emotions, it also tells us how old a movie is. For example in the movie Illusionist, the director used dark and dusty lights to make it seem old. Lighting plays even a a bigger role in Horror films where mood is everything.
